WELCOME VIRGINIA & TENNESSEE: New EasyLiving Home Affiliates
The state of Virginia officially became an EasyLiving Home affiliate on February 20, 2008, and started their program off with a bang by showcasing their first certified EasyLiving Home during the annual Dream Home® Tour on March 8-9. The home was built by Stephen Thomas, Virginia's first member builder of the EasyLiving Home program. Read an article from the ODC News about the Virginia affiliate and Stephen Thomas's show house.
The state of Tennessee became our next affiliate on May 2. In preparation for launching the program, five members of the Tennessee coalition met with ELH representatives for a private replication summit on May 2-3, and after two days of extensive training, touring, talking and planning, returned home with excitement and motivation to sign up builders and certify homes. Welcome aboard Virginia and Tennessee!

Roy Wendt and Steve Romeyn — Builders of EasyLiving Homes — Win Awards!
Roy Wendt of Wendt Builders is winning builder in the “More than 2,500 Square-Foot Home” category of the AARP/NAHB Livable Communities Award for his EasyLiving Homecm in Olde Town Grayson.
AARP and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) created the joint awards program — the Livable Communities Awards for Builders, Remodelers, and Developers-to recognize forward-looking companies that have constructed creative and unique homes and communities with accessible features that improve the daily comfort, ease of use, and safety, of all their residents, no matter what their ages or physical abilities.
This EasyLiving Home's rustic exterior reflects the charm of its historic neighborhood. The judges were impressed by the foresight that went into the fashionable and functional design of the two-story home, which has all the EasyLiving Homecm criteria on the first floor.

Steve Romeyn of Windsong Properties, is Awarded CPHB “Customer Satisfaction Award” for the Category of 51-99 Permits
“The Certified Professional Home Builder’s Customer Satisfaction Awards are based on the index score comprised of a builder’s ranking in all nine GuildQuality satisfaction categories. These categories include professionalism, scheduling, construction quality, communication, problem resolution, employee and trade contractor, punch list, easier than expected and recommendation. The combined index score of these categories represent the builder’s overall customer satisfaction rating. This award is presented to the top builder in four categories: 1-20 permits, 21-50 permits, 51-99 permits and more than 100 permits.” According to the GuildQuality surveys and ratings, Windsong currently has a 94.9% recommendation rate.
